چکیده

Cryptocurrency, and its underlying technologies, has been gaining popularity for transaction management beyond financial transactions. Transaction information is maintained in the blockchain, which can be used to audit the integrity of the transaction. The focus on this paper is the potential availability of block-chain technology of other transactional uses. Block-chain is one of the most stable open ledgers that preserves transaction information, and is difficult to forge. Since the information stored in block-chain is not related to personally identifiable information, it has the characteristics of anonymity. Also, the block-chain allows for transparent transaction verification since all information in the block-chain is open to the public. These characteristics are the same as the requirements for a voting system. That is, strong robustness, anonymity, and transparency. In this paper, we propose an electronic voting system as an application of blockchain, and describe block-chain based voting at a national level through examples.

A Review on Consensus Algorithms in Blockchain

Block chain technology is a decentralized data storage structure based on a chain of data blocks that are related to each other. Block chain saves new blocks in the ledger without trusting intermediaries through a competitive or voting mechanism. Due to the chain structure or the graph between each block with its previous blocks, it is impossible to change blocking data. Block chain architectur...

Double voter perceptible blind signature based electronic voting protocol

Mu et al. have proposed an electronic voting protocol and claimed that it protects anonymity of voters, detects double voting and authenticates eligible voters. It has been shown that it does not protect voter's privacy and prevent double voting. After that, several schemes have been presented to fulfill these properties. However, many of them suffer from the same weaknesses. In this p...

A secure and available electronic voting service for a large-scale distributed system

We present a secure and available electronic voting service suitable for a large-scale distributed system such as the Internet. The proposed service is based on replication and tolerates both benign and fully arbitrary failures. If enough servers are correct, service availability and security are ensured despite the presence of faulty servers and malicious voters. A voter that is affected by a ...

Cryptographically verifiable anonymous voting using pan-european e-IDs

In this paper we explore a method to create anonymous services on top of the STORK framework, to be used for electronic surveys or elections. The STORK project aims to realize a single electronic identification and authentication area across Europe. For verifiable and anonymous voting, users should be authenticated with their e-id (to prevent repeated voting) but the votes should also be anonym...
